Tottenham deal for Blackburn Rovers defender Ryan Nelsen has been agreed – agent
The New Zealander has seen his contract at Ewood Park terminated by mutual consent meaning he is now free to move to Spurs after Harry Redknapp expressed an interest

Nelsen only had six months left on his deal and has played just once this season, and now as a free agent there should be no restrictions on him joining Spurs after Harry Redknapp expressed his admiration for the defender after Tuesday night’s 3-1 win over Wigan.
The deal follows on from Spurs acquisition of Everton forward Louis Saha on a similarly short-term deadl, with Steven Pienaar and Sebastien Bassong leaving White Hart Lane on loan.
The New Zealander’s Washington-based representative, Lyle Yorks, told the Washington Post: "We settled with Blackburn and have reached agreement with Spurs.
"We're just awaiting clearance. It's for six months, with a one-year option. It all unfolded quickly."
Nelsen moved to Blackburn from D.C. United on a free transfer in 2005.

"But, we came through. Obviously there were a lot of changes so it's good to get the result.
"Belgium are a very, very strong side who are going to be really good in the future. Vincent [Kompany] told me about them and said that they were coming good and I totally agree with him."
"[Gary] Cahill I suppose is slightly more of a concern for me because it is a jaw injury. We're desperately hoping the CT scan doesn't show any fracture and it's just going to be a bruising situation, which will be bad enough, but won't stop him taking part in the tournament. As far as John's [Terry] concerned he felt his hamstring a little bit. Again it wasn't a major thing when he came off but we still need to scan it just to be 100 per cent sure."
Suffice to say, if Cahill has broken his jaw, he won't play any part in the tournament.
