Vincent Kompany makes his return to the Manchester City starting XI against Everton on Tuesday, having served his four game suspension for a two-footed tackle United striker Wayne Rooney.

The Belgian centre-back replaces Stefan Savic in defence, while Gael Clichy comes in for Aleksandar Kolarov at left-back, with Micah Richards and Joleon Lescott both retaining their places following last week's 2-2 League Cup semi-final second leg draw to Liverpool.

David Silva, Samir Nasri and Edin Dzeko all start, while Sergio Aguero returns to the side having been rested for the Anfield defeat. Pablo Zabaleta and Nigel de Jong both miss out, with James Milner partnering Gareth Barry in central midfield.

For Everton, Tony Hibbert partners John Heitinga in the centre of defence, with both Sylvain Distin and Phil Jagielka missing out through injury, while Landon Donovan, Royston Drenthe and Tim Cahill all start.

Denis Stracqualuris starts up front for David Moyes side, with Louis Saha not amongst the substitutes ahead of a potential move to Tottenham.
