Jose Mourinho set to leave Real Madrid & return to the Premier League in the summer - report
Portuguese tactician is understood to be unhappy with the problems he has faced since his move to the Bernabeu, and is thought to have decided to return to the Premier League
Jose Mourinho is believed to have made up his mind to leave Real Madrid at the end of the season and return to the Premier League.
The Portuguese boss has overseen a lot of success on the pitch with his team establishing a seven-point lead in La Liga, beating Zaragoza 3-1 on Saturday night while rivals Barcelona were held to a goalless draw at Villarreal.
In European competition, the nine-times continental champions have managed to win every match they have played in the Champions League this season, and have been drawn against CSKA Moscow in the first knockout round of the tournament.
However, the former Inter boss has come under pressure from Real Madrid's fans for the style of play he employs, with a section of the crowd jeering him during the victory over Athletic Bilbao last week.
The two-time Champions League-winning manager has also been in the media for the wrong reasons lately, having reportedly had bust-ups with both Sergio Ramos and Iker Casillas.
Now The Sunday Times reports that Mourinho is unhappy with the resistance with which he has been met off the pitch at the Bernabeu, and has made up his mind to return to England.
The 49-year-old boss previously managed Chelsea between 2004 and 2007, winning two Premier League titles, two League Cups and one FA Cup prior to his sudden departure.
He then went on to manage Inter in Italy's Serie A, guiding them to two league titles, one Coppa Italia and a Champions League crown before leaving to join the Spanish heavyweights last season.
His possible availability later in the year has already sparked speculation about which English Premier League clubs might offer him a role. The Mirror has suggested that Manchester City could be Mourinho's next destination given that incumbent Roberto Mancini is said to be under mounting pressure to win the Premier League title this season or suffer the consequences.
