Manchester City midfielder James Milner tips David Silva or Joe Hart to win PFA Player of the Year award
Midfielder hails the performances of the "unbelievable" Spaniard this season but also believes his side's defence should take some plaudits
By John Stammers
The Spaniard, signed for £26 million in the summer of 2010, has been in great form for Roberto Mancini's men this campaign, contributing 12 assists and five goals in 22 games.
However, goalkeeper Joe Hart has been equally important at the other end of the pitch, putting in a number of stunning displays.
The 26-year-old told the club's official website: “Maybe I am biased but David [Silva] has been unbelievable for us.
“He should be in the running regardless of what I think.
“But we have another candidate, too because Joe Hart has been absolutely outstanding all season.
“There have been top performances right through the squad. Gareth Barry has been unbelievable while the boys at the back Vincent Kompany, Joleon Lescott plus Gael Clichy coming in – it’s not easy changing clubs.
“It is a quality squad to be involved in, but David and Joe are the two stand-out performers for me. We can't vote for them because we are team-mates but I’m sure they will be there or thereabouts.”
