'As things stand AC Milan isn't an option for Carlos Tevez' - Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak

The Etihad Stadium chief has labeled the Italian side's confidence in completing a deal as "misplaced" as the clubs are yet to agree terms on any potential January transfer

Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak has indicated AC Milan are currently not an option for Carlos Tevez, as terms over a deal are yet to be agreed by the two clubs.

The Argentina international favours a move to Italy and as such a potential transfer to French side Paris Saint-Germain has broken down.

Meanwhile, AC Milan chief executive Adriano Galliano has repeatedly spoken publicly about negotiations to sign the player.

But the City chairman has been left unimpressed by the way Galliani and the club have conducted themselves, and has suggested Tevez could still remain at the Etihad Stadium this month if suitable terms are not agreed for a transfer.

“Carlos remains a player with contractual obligations to Manchester City for the next two and a half seasons," Al Mubarak said in a statement to The National in Abu Dhabi.

"Unless we receive an offer that we deem appropriate the terms of his contract will be enforced.

“Inter Milan and Paris St Germain approached discussions with us in good faith and it is always a positive experience to deal with people with a professional approach.

"As things stand AC Milan isn’t an option for Carlos Tevez. Mr. Galliani and his advisors have developed a misplaced sense of confidence from their premature discussions with Carlos and his advisors.

"If they want to be a consideration in this transfer window they would do better to stop congratulating one another and begin to look at how they would meet our terms.”

Galliani has also declared Milan could instead sign Catania forward Maxi Lopez, if they are unable to agree a deal to sign Tevez.
