David Dunn hails Blackburn’s ‘best’ display of the season despite draw with Everton
The midfielder rued Fellaini's handball in the build-up to Tim Cahill's opener, and has called on Rovers to build on the point for the visit of Newcastle a week on Wednesday

Blackburn’s David Dunn felt his side’s display on Saturday against Everton was their best all season, despite having to settle for a draw at Goodison Park.
The 1-1 stalemate saw Rovers slip back into the relegation places following Bolton's 3-1 win over Liverpool, but the 32-year-old is glad to see his side continue to improve.
"I would argue that that was the best we have played all season if I'm being honest. It was a very good performance from everyone,” the midfielder told the club’s official website.
"I thought we all looked pretty comfortable, we were creating chances, we looked solid and I thought we were the best team for a lot of the game."
Rovers were unlucky to concede the opener after Toffees midfielder Marouane Fellaini appeared to cushion the ball with his hand before Tim Cahill bagged the opening goal - the first scored by the Australian since December 2010.
Dunn commented: "We felt a little bit aggrieved with their goal because of the hand ball, but I felt we were in charge of the game, we were the only team that was going to go on and score.
"If we had got the first perhaps we would have gone on and won, but with them getting the first goal it gave them a bit of confidence.
"But you've got to be pleased with a point at Goodison, looking back at the game I think we were the best team and perhaps could have got a little bit more out of the game but it wasn't to be."
Dunn went close to getting his second goal in successive games as he impressed in a free role behind striker David Goodwillie, with the Scotsman eventually bundling in the equaliser after shutting down a goalline clearance.
"Unfortunately I just couldn't get a goal, I hit the post, had one disallowed and another saved,” the midfielder added.
"Sometimes that is how it goes. Maybe the best chance I had was from Junior's pull back but I just didn't catch it well.”
The Lancashire club have suffered a turbulent season so far, having endured fan protests against both manager Steve Kean and owners Venky’s.
Meanwhile, centre-back and captain Christopher Samba is understood to be unhappy after seeing his request for a transfer denied, and has now been absent for the last two Premier League matches, officially due to illness.
Dunn took the opportunity to call for unity ahead of the club's next home game against Newcastle a week on Wednesday: “Let’s build on this, hopefully the fans can carry on where they've been for the last couple of games as well and really get behind us at home.
“We can go and really challenge Newcastle, they are having a tremendous season. We've beaten them once at Ewood already this season in the [League] cup, so why not do it again?"
