Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois says he is eager to spend a second year on loan at Atletico Madrid, revealing he has told Blues manager Andre Villas-Boas of his intentions.

The Belgian stopper signed for the Premier League side in the summer but was immediately shipped out on a short-term deal to Atletico to get more games under his belt.

Courtois has earned favourable reviews for his performances between the posts and the 19-year-old has indicated that he is looking to prolong his stay at the Vicente Calderon beyond the end of the season.

"I am very happy at Atletico and I am living a good experience," he told Marca.

"I would like to stay here one more year and I said this to Chelsea's manager [Andre Villas-Boas] on Sunday."

Courtois has featured 23 times for Atletico, who sit 10th in the Primera Division standings.
