Fulham have confirmed the signing of Aberdeen youngster Jack Grimmer, provoking criticism from the SPL club’s chief executive Duncan Fraser.

The midfield prodigy has signed for the west London outfift and is set to team up with the club’s development team for the rest of the season, having become the youngest player to play for the Aberdeen senior side after making his debut against Rangers at 16-years-old.

Whilst Grimmer's potential has been rewarded with a move to the Premier League, Fraser is of the opinion that the youngster should have honed his skills in his home country rather than eying a big-money move so early in his career.

"We received full value on the training compensation side, while agreeing to further add on terms," Fraser explained to the club’s official website.

"We made Jack an extremely good offer to remain at Pittodrie, having signed him straight from school.

"[Manager] Craig Brown emphasised that he would continue to be developed by being involved with the first team, with a view to him becoming a full first team squad member next season.

"There is a bigger issue for Scottish football here in that we are beginning to see young talent moving south before they are fully developed with the teams they signed for as youngsters.

"It is an issue we shall seek to raise with the Scottish Premier League and Scottish Football Association to see what steps can be taken to safeguard our clubs' interests."

The Cottagers have also confirmed the signing of another hot prospect, Danish born Lasse Vigen Christensen, with the 17-year-old making the move from FC Midjtylland.
