Everton give trial to United States striker Edson Buddle
David Moyes is hoping to bolster his attacking options in January, and the 30-year-old may be keen to link up with his ex-LA Galaxy team-mate Landon Donovan at Goodison Park
By Alex Richards
The Toffees have been found lacking up front at times this season, and with left-back Leighton Baines the club's top-scorer with four strikes, the Scottish boss is keen on increasing his striking options.
The 30-year-old currently plays for German second division club Ingolstadt, and has scored six goals in 17 appearances this season, having bagged 42 in 87 matches for former club LA Galaxy between 2007 and 2010.
With the Bavaria-based side currently on a winter break, Moyes has taken the opportunity to take a closer look at Buddle, with the possibility of a move to the Premier League if the player can impress.
The Merseyside club already have two American's in their squad in goalkeeper Tim Howard and on-loan forward Landon Donovan, both of whom are represented by the same agent as Buddle.
Buddle's representative Richard Motzkin, confirmed on Twitter: "For those asking, my client Edson Buddle will be on trial this week at Everton FC."
