'I think he ate a motor!' - Manchester United's Patrice Evra hails Antonio Valencia's performance in win over Bolton Wanderers
The defender has praised the Ecuadorian after his stunning display in his preferred position in midfield, while Michael Carrick says the winger must be difficult to play against
By Danny Hart
The Ecuadorian, who has been playing at right-back in recent weeks, returned to his natural position on the right side of midfield to put in an excellent performance against Trotters defender Sam Ricketts.
"I think he ate a motor," Evra joked to the club’s official website. "He was unbelievable.
"I don't know the left-back of Bolton, but I'm sure he had muscle problems after the game. Antonio's so powerful.
"It's just great to see Antonio back [on the wing] and in great form."
Midfielder Michael Carrick also had praise for the winger, insisting opposition full-backs must find it difficult to defend against him.
He said: "He's really on his game at the moment, and has been for a good number of matches. We just keep giving him the ball and he carries it up the pitch and creates opportunities for us. It’s great to see him playing like that and it must be horrible to play against."
