Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has warned Emmanuel Adebayor he will have to take a pay-cut if he wants to stay at the club

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp would love to sign Emmanuel Adebayor on a permanent deal but has warned the on-loan Manchester City striker that we will have to take a huge pay-cut to remain at White Hart Lane beyond the end of the season.
Adebayor has been an instant hit at Tottenham this term and is clearly enjoying his time at the club, though Redknapp has poured cold water on any potential deal, with the Spurs chairman Daniel Levy implementing a tight wage structure at the club.
Manchester City will be looking to sell the former Arsenal striker, who fell out of favour under Roberto Mancini, and with Uefa's Financial Fair Play (FFP) looming too, they will be keen to have the striker’s huge wage off the bill.
Redknapp has revealed that Adebayor’s current wage at Manchester City is £225,000 per week, a figure that eclipses any wage that Tottenham would be able to afford.
"He has done well for us. He has worked hard but he is on amazing money.
"The other week, one of the lads told him that he had not paid his £50 fine for being the worst player in training on a Friday morning. One of the lads said to him: 'Bloody hell, Ade, you are on 200 grand a week and you can't afford to pay a £50 fine!' He replied: 'Don't insult me, it's 225!'
"He certainly isn't getting that here."
Tottenham face Wolves in their next Premier League fixture as they look to increase the pressure on the two Manchester clubs in the title race.
