As we reach the halfway stage in the January transfer window, deals are starting to froth up and big money bids are beginning to bubble while the football shows no sign of abating.

Goal.com readers asked their questions via Twitter on all things Premier League-related with our correspondent Greg Stobart was on stand-by to answer all your queries.

Below are the highlights of the Q&A – click here to read the full article.

Will Thierry Henry partner Robin van Persie up front for Arsenal this weekend? - Andrew Maore

Greg Stobart: “The suggestion today is that Henry is in line for a start against Swansea on Sunday following his goalscoring comeback against Leeds on Monday night. He has been training well and Arsene Wenger appears to have no problems with playing the club legend from the start at the Liberty Stadium.

"‘Henry is ready to start a game,’ Wenger said today. ‘He can win us games off the bench or from the start. He just wants to help.’

“I would imagine Henry would prefer to start in a central role alongside Van Persie, but he could also play on the left side of a front three. Check out this piece from my colleague Jamie Dunn on Wenger’s selection dilemma this weekend.”

Following Darron Gibson’s departure to Everton, which midfield sensation could Sir Alex Ferguson look to take to Manchester United in January? - Berba2unde

Greg: “I can’t think of any ‘sensation’ who Manchester United could sign this month to improve their midfield. Sir Alex Ferguson agreed with me last week when he spoke of the difficulty in signing players in January, warning against the risk of buying someone ‘second-rate’ rather than going for a top target. United need an A-list central midfielder and, if I was Ferguson, I would wait until the summer to make a huge push for Tottenham playmaker Luka Modric. And I think that may well happen.”

Who could leave or join this transfer window at Tottenham? - Matt Davis

Greg: “Tottenham are very conscious of not upsetting the equilibrium at the club this month and are hoping for a quiet window. The main focus at the moment is trying to sell unwanted fringe players on high wages, especially Giovani dos Santos and Roman Pavlyuchenko. I expect both to leave the club, although Pavlyuchenko’s departure will be contingent on the Londoners buying another striker, with Loic Remy one of their top targets.

“Blackburn winger Junior Hoilett is a target and could be available for a cut price fee as Rovers risk losing him for nothing when his contract expires at the end of the season. Spurs are ready to lodge a £7m bid for the versatile attacker but first have to sell either Niko Kranjcar or Steven Pienaar, who was the subject of a rejected bid from QPR this morning.”

Who would be a suitable striker signing for Liverpool? - Ryan Sumner

Greg: “Liverpool will not be the only club that regrets not making a move for Demba Ba last summer - and I think the Newcastle striker would be perfect for their side. Kenny Dalglish has got Liverpool playing some lovely approach play but there is no cutting edge in the penalty box, with Andy Carroll short of confidence and Luis Suarez profligate (and now suspended).

“He is a perfect player for English football: fast, powerful, skilful and, most importantly, he has a keen eye for goal. There are obvious concerns about his injury record - not to mention the potential that he could be a ‘one season wonder’ - but if his release clause is less than £10m, it could be worth the gamble for Liverpool. It could be the difference between playing in the Europa League and the Champions League next season.”

Is there any credibility in the news Paul Pogba and Ravel Morrison could leave Manchester United? - Dheeraj Khandelwal

Greg: “There is certainly credibility – stories like this rarely appear from nowhere. From a footballing point of view, both players are frustrated by their lack of first-team opportunities while they believe than can earn far more money elsewhere.

“One thing is for certain: the representatives of the two Academy stars have been very busy in sounding out potential clubs should they leave.”
