Palmeiras turned down chance to buy Florent Malouda from Chelsea, director claims
The French ace is seeking a move to Brazil but he will have to look elsewhere after the Sao Paulo-based club, coached by Luis Felipe Scolari, expressed no interest
By Luis Mira
The France international has made no secret that he has grown unsettled at Stamford Bridge after struggling to hold down a regular first-team spot under Andre Villas-Boas.
Paris Saint-Germain and Anzhi Makhachkala have both been credited with an interest in the 31-year-old midfielder, who has made just four Premier League starts this term.
Fifa agent Marcos Bocatto revealed on Thursday he is in charge of finding Malouda a club in Brazil, after the Frenchman had 'expressed an interest' in moving to the South American country.
Vice-director Frizzo told ESPN Brasil: "Palmeiras are usually offered many players, and Malouda was offered, too.
"But there was no interest. Every time that we are offered a player, we talk with the coach, and Luis Felipe Scolari was not interested.
"Malouda is not part of our project."
Scolari coached Malouda during his tenure in charge of Chelsea in 2008 and 2009.
