Sunderland boss Martin O'Neill hails captain Lee Cattermole’s ‘spot on’ attitude despite recent indiscipline
The midfielder has faced problems both on and off of the field of late, but the ex-Celtic boss believes the 23-year-old is beginning to mature at the Stadium of Light

The 23-year-old was unavailable for O'Neill's first game charge - the 2-1 home victory to Blackburn, while the former Wigan man has also seen his lack of discipline become problematic off the field, with the midfielder arrested along with striker Nicklas Bendtner for damaging cars in Newcastle city centre towards the end of last year.
The ex-Celtic and Aston Villa boss is confident those issues are finally behind the player, however, and has hailed the player's application since his arrival as coach at the club.
"Lee missed my first game against Blackburn Rovers through suspension," the manager explained to his club's official website.
"With the team having done pretty well I didn't see any particular reason to make the change against Spurs.
"But he came in against QPR and, in all fairness, has really been fantastic since.
"His attitude is spot on, but it's not just that. Lee has shown great willingness; he's thrown everything into the games he's played and at the moment he's coming out on top."
The Black Cats travel south to London to face Chelsea this Saturday.
