Harry Redknapp would 'love' to have David Beckham at Tottenham
The former England captain trained with the north Londoners last season and has been told he is welcome back, although the Spurs boss admits signing him could be difficult

Harry Redknapp has left the door open for David Beckham to return to Tottenham.
Beckham trained for a month with Tottenham last season but was unable to agree a loan deal to play in competitive fixtures before returning to LA Galaxy, and Redknapp admitted he would "love" to have him back.
The 36-year-old is currently out of contract with the Galaxy but is negotiating to extend his stay at the MLS club.
In the past week former team-mate Paul Scholes and another player from the MLS in Thierry Henry have returned to the Premier League for Manchester United and Arsenal respectively.
And now the path is open for Beckham to make a return, although Redknapp admitted it might be difficult to sign him to a permanent contract that would enable him to play for the team.
“If David wants to come in then of course he can, it’s not a problem,” Redknapp told reporters.
“I haven’t spoken to him about it, but I could do if he wants to come back. We’d love to have him here.
“I’m sure Premier League teams would still be interested in him, he’s still playing isn’t he. You see Paul Scholes coming on and playing, and Robbie Keane’s signed for Aston Villa. Teams still want to take these older players.
“People keep saying the players today are better than what they were. Well we keep bringing back 37-year-olds so I don’t know about that. It can’t quite be right.
“Could David play for us? It’s a difficult one, I wouldn’t know about the financial side of all of that. The chairman was dealing with his club last time. But as a fella, to have him around the place every day was brilliant.
“You can’t beat that, it’s not just about players who play on a Saturday. It’s about your football club, what they can bring to your club, and those kind of people are invaluable.
“Having people like that around - like Henry - he’s worth his weight in gold. They make a difference when they walk into the club.
“I said that all along. When we brought Scott Parker in here he’s great around the place, not just on the pitch.
“You can’t replace them, good professionals and good habits. Young players will learn more from watching them every day than they ever do getting coached by anybody.”
