Chelsea handed injury boost as Michael Essien plays 75 minutes for reserves
The Ghanaian has been out of action all season after picking up a serious injury in the summer, but he came through the second string's 3-2 loss to West Brom unharmed
By Sam Bisby
Chelsea have been handed a boost with the news that midfielder Michael Essien successfully came through 75 minutes of football for the reserves unscathed.
The Ghanaian is yet to feature this campaign due to a serious knee injury sustained in pre-season and has been a missed man as the Blues have struggled for consistency.
Essien played in the 3-2 loss to West Brom reserves and will be expected to enter first-team action in the coming weeks.
