Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp praises Jermain Defoe after match-winning performance against West Brom
The 29-year-old has found opportunities hard to come by at White Hart Lane this season, but was on hand to secure all three points against the Baggies on Tuesday

The 29-year-old has found his opportunities limited this season, due to the presence and form of on-loan striker Emmanuel Adebayor, with the England forward recently suggesting he may look to leave the north London club again due to fears a lack of playing time will harm his Euro 2012 hopes.
Yet Defoe has recently found himself back in favour of late, and his goal against Roy Hodgson's side secured a narrow win for Spurs, much to the praise of Redknapp.
“That’s what Jermain is, a goalscorer,” the former Portsmouth boss told the club's official website.
“He turned and just managed to get that one in for us. That was the difference. West Brom made it tough for us, they were difficult to break down.
“He’s always likely to pop up and score a goal like that and it’s just what we needed.”
Spurs sit in third place in the league after the victory, three points behind second-place Manchester United and six behind leaders Manchester City, with a game in hand on the two northern clubs.
