Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas will reportedly chase three signings after completing the transfer of Gary Cahill from Bolton.

The Daily Mirror claim that the Stamford Bridge boss wants to sign a right-back and a creative midfielder along with a striker to replace the outgoing Nicolas Anelka and the ageing Didier Drogba.

Villas-Boas is expected to wait until the end of the season to make major signings but has apprently been told that money will be available to him whenever he needs it.

Ajax full-back Gregory van der Wiel is thought to be high on the Blues' wanted list as they look for competition for Jose Bosingwa.

Chelsea are well-known admirers of Tottenham's Luka Modric after their public pursuit of him last summer and may decide to go back for the diminutive Croatian but if he is still unavailable, Porto's Joao Moutinho is thought to be an option.

The Blues are also considering signing a striker, with Porto's powerhouse Hulk reportedly their top target.

The Brazilian worked with Villas-Boas at the Estadio Dragao and the player's agent Theodoro Fonseca has suggested the forward would welcome a move to London.

He told The Times: “Hulk would wholeheartedly agree to work with Andre at Porto or Chelsea, or at any other team because he really likes the way he coaches.

“Andre knows Hulk very well and they have a good relationship. Hulk at Chelsea? Anything is possible.”
