Wolves midfielder Nenad Milijas has seen his red-card appeal rejected by the FA following his dismissal in the 1-1 draw against Arsenal at the Emirates on Tuesday.

Milijas was given his marching orders following a tackle on Mikel Arteta which referee Stuart Atwell deemed dangerous play, and an Independent Regulatory Commission has today dismissed the club's appeal.

"I think there will be no doubt about it when everyone sees it, and I hope that when the referee sees it, he's magnanimous enough to know that he's made a mistake and he'll rescind it," McCarthy told Sky Sports following the game.

Milijas will be handed a three-match ban starting with immediate effect, meaning he will miss Premier League games against Bolton and Chelsea, as well as the FA Cup third round derby clash with Birmingham.
