Tottenham defender William Gallas has revealed his delight after helping his side to a cleansheet in the 2-0 victory over Norwich on Tuesday.

Paul Lambert opted for the robust striking duo of Grant Holt and Steve Morison for the clash at Carrow Road, but a solid defensive display from Gallas and Younes Kaboul limited their chances in front of goal.

Tottenham are flying high in the Premier League this season with Emmanuel Adebayor and Gareth Bale taking many of the plaudits, but the Spurs backline have conceded just 11 goals in their past 15 games, a record the Frenchman is particularly proud of.

"We played very well in defence, concentrated on what we had to do and kept the strikers quiet," Gallas told the club's official website.

"That is real satisfaction for the defenders, when you don’t concede a goal. That’s very good for us.

"With my experience, I’m always wary about a game like that. Even if you score the first goal, you never know what can happen, so it was important to score the second, stay strong and that’s what we did. Everyone was happy."

Tottenham travel to the Liberty Stadium to face Swansea on New Year’s Eve, who boast the best defensive home record in the Premier League.
