Premier League Team of the Week: Gareth Bale stars as Emmanuel Adebayor joins hat-trick hero Dimitar Berbatov in attack
The Wales international is included for the fifth time this season after scoring an outstanding brace in Tottenham's 2-0 victory over Norwich City at Carrow Road
The 22-year-old was the star of the show in his side’s 2-0 victory against Paul Lambert’s men at Carrow Road, scoring both goals as Spurs’ impressive form in the Premier League continued.
David Stockdale is also included following a number of vital saves in Fulham’s 1-1 draw away to Chelsea, which means Wolves goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey misses out despite his heroics against Arsenal.
Everton duo Sylvain Distin and Leighton Baines make up the left side of defence after impressive displays away to Sunderland, while Antonio Valencia, who was forced to fill in at right-back for injury-hit Manchester United against Wigan Athletic, and Richard Dunne, a rock at the back for Aston Villa against Stoke, also make the cut.
Having pulled the strings at times from the middle of the park against Norwich, Luka Modric joins Tottenham team-mate Bale in our TOTW. Paul Scharner is also selected in midfield, retaining his place after helping West Brom become the first team to stop Manchester City from scoring in the league this season.
Park Ji-Sung is given the nod on the right side of midfield after opening the scoring in the 5-0 demolition of Wigan, while hat-trick hero Dimitar Berbatov is joined in attack by Emmanuel Adebayor, who played a key role in Tottenham's opening goal against Norwich.
As well as Hennessey, honourable mentions this week go to Phil Jagielka, Kyle Walker, Scott Sinclair, Jerome Thomas, Oriol Romeu, Hatem Ben Arfa and Demba Ba.
