Daniel Agger believes partnership with Martin Skrtel can propel Liverpool to Champions League qualification
The two centre-backs have formed the bedrock of a side with the best defensive record in the Premier League, and the Dane hopes they can continue that way to secure top four spot

Liverpool’s Daniel Agger believes his partnership with Martin Skrtel can earn the Reds a Champions League place.
The Merseyside outfit have the best defensive record in the top flight, having conceded just 13 goals in 16 games and left Villa Park on Sunday with their sixth clean sheet of the campaign following their 2-0 win over Alex McLeish’s side.
Three points separate Liverpool and fourth-placed Chelsea and Agger believes more strong showings at the back can propel the Reds further up the table and help them qualify for the Champions League.
“We enjoy playing alongside each other and we complement each other well,” he told reporters.
"We feel good together but, to be honest, the whole team have defended well. It's not only about us. Everyone has made a difference.
"If you keep clean sheets then it is easy to win. If we keep winning it will say it all and, of course, we can get back into the top four. But there is a lot of work to do.
"I'm not thinking about my fitness any more. I give everything in every game and I'll see how long it lasts.”
