Everton midfielder Jack Rodwell is set to miss the Swansea game against on Wednesday evening after picking up a hamstring strain.

The England international sustained the injury in the warm-up for Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Norwich, which meant that David Moyes had to replace him in the starting lineup shortly before kick-off.

The Toffees’ boss told the Liverpool Echo: “Jack was injured on the bench.

“He got injured in the warm up again. He had a hamstring strain, as you know, but I got told just before kick-off that even if I needed Jack he wouldn’t be able to go on because he felt it in the warm up.”

This injury comes as a big blow as Everton prepare to enter the busy festive period of games.
