Sir Alex Ferguson backs Rafael & Fabio da Silva to succeed at Manchester United
Red Devils boss hails the Brazilian twins as 'terrific talents' and declares his belief that the pair will become even better players and avoid frequent injuries as they mature
By Adithya Ananth
The twins joined the Red Devils in 2008 from Fluminense, but have had a series of problems concerning injuries and have had trouble making consistent starts for the first-team.
Rafael and Fabio both sustained injuries in the recent League Cup game against Crystal Palace, and remained sidelined for Sunday's game against Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road.
"The two of them are terrific talents," Sir Alex said on the club's official website. "But they keep getting injuries, the kids are always getting them.
"I'm hoping that maturity eradicates all these things they have but it's all different types of injuries you know.
"They're so sturdy. They're strong boys but, possibly, they're a wee bit optimistic in terms of the challenges they make. They always put a foot in, in terms of attacking-wise, and are always getting injured going into attacking moves.
"The boys just don't see danger. Bryan Robson was that way too, 'Bang, on they go'. They're only 21, you know, they're young," he added. "You forget they were in the team as teenagers."
