Harry Redknapp has all the attributes to be next England manager, says Tottenham midfielder Niko Kranjcar

The Croatia international feels that the time will be right for his club boss to step up to the national team role next summer, and insists he is not interested in January exit

Tottenham midfielder Niko Kranjcar believes that boss Harry Redknapp should become the next England manager.

Redknapp is the favourite to replace Fabio Capello as coach of the national team following Euro 2012 but he has refused to be drawn on the issue.

"I think it is his time," Kranjcar is quoted as saying by Sky Sports. "Everybody thinks he has the attributes to be the England manager.

"I have worked with him a long time and the success he has had with Portsmouth and now with Spurs gives him all the credentials to count himself a person capable of being the next England manager."

Kranjcar, meanwhile, admitted his frustration at his lack of first-team action as Spurs catapulted themselves into title contention, but insists he remains happy at White Hart Lane and does not plan to move away in the January transfer window.

"It is the most frustrating thing about being a footballer - being out when the team is playing well," he said. "You want to be part of it.

"But you try to stay calm and get back as soon as possible.

"I'm not one to knock on the manager's door [to complain]. I have always said I am happy to be part of the squad at Tottenham because I think it is an unbelievable place.

"I would not really be interested if another club came in January."

The Croatian added that he remained focused on getting fit after a thigh injury in order to put himself in contention for a place in the Spurs side.

"I was out for most of the season so I probably would not think about anything else other than getting into top shape and pushing for a place," he continued.

"I really haven't had any thoughts on what might or might not happen in January. I am happy [at Tottenham]."
