Thomas Vermaelen starts at left-back for Arsenal, as they face Everton in Saturday's Premier League clash.

The Belgian international plays in the somewhat unfamiliar full-back role due to the absence of Bacary Sagna and Andre Santos, after the Brazilian damaged his ankle in the midweek Champions League defeat to Olympiakos.

Theo Walcott and Gervinho continue to flank Robin van Persie up front, whilst Aaron Ramsey, Alex Song and Mikel Arteta all start in midfield - the latter facing his former club for the first time since his deadline day switch to the Emirates.

David Moyes recalls Louis Saha to the starting XI in place of Greek striker Apostolos Vellios who drops to the bench, as the Toffees look to bounce back from last Sunday's defeat to Stoke.

The French forward is supported by Tim Cahill in attacking midfield, as the Australian goes in search of his first goal since December.
