The players are part of 55-man list which also includes another 13 players that played in the Premier League this year.
Manchester United trio Patrice Evra, Nemanja Vidic and Nani as well as former United keeper Edwin van der Sar make the cut, while Chelsea duo David Luiz and Didier Drogba are also included.
There are also places for Arsenal’s captain Robin van Persie, Tottenham’s Gareth Bale and Liverpool’s Luis Suarez. While the final four slots are held my Manchester City’s Vincent Kompany, David Silva, Yaya Toure and Sergio Aguero.
La Liga boasts the most nominees with 22 players included, however the majority of candidates come from Champions League winners Barcelona and rivals Real Madrid.
Nine of Barca’s players that started the final against Manchester United are on the list with Pedro and Javier Mascherano missing out, while Madrid have 10 of their players included.
The players were selected by their fellow professionals belonging to unions all over the world that form FIFPro.
The final XI will be announced at the FIFA Ballon d'Or in Zurich on January 9, 2012.
