Carlo Cudicini feels Tottenham are 'special' & can win the Premier League
The Italian shot stopper's current deal expires in the summer, but he is looking to stay at White Hart Lane, claiming the Spurs squad has enough quality to take the title

Tottenham goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini says he is determined to earn himself a contract extension at the club and feels the team has enough quality to win the league.
The 38-year-old is yet to start a Premier League game this season, with the evergreen Brad Friedel currently Harry Redknapp’s first choice.
The Italian’s current deal expires in the summer, but he says he is happy at White Hart Lane, and hopes to earn a new contract at the club.
He told reporters: "My contract is running out at the end of the season. At 38, year by year, you try to deserve a new contract so that's what I'm trying to do.
"I still have the motivation to try to get into the first team. If you don't have that at 38 it's better for you to play golf every day instead. You need to have that motivation.
"I am happy here. Of course everyone would like to play more games but I can be happy, I have everything."
Since Redknapp took over at White Hart Lane, Spurs have made a lot of progress.
Not only did the club qualify for the Champions League in 2010, they currently lie third in the Premier League, two points behind last year’s champions Manchester United, with a game in hand.
And Cudicini is of the belief that the current Spurs squad has the quality to win the Premier League.
"Maybe everyone thought reaching the Champions League was the top of our possibilities but, as you can see, it's not finished yet. You never know," said the goalkeeper.
"This club is looking forward and it's climbing stairs quite rapidly. It's a very good thing for the club and the supporters.
"When you're champions it means you have something special. This team has everything to be special but it's still a long way.
"February and March is when the top teams are involved in Champions League and fatigue can be an important element. Maybe we can take advantage of that."
Along with Cudicini and Brad Friedel, Redknapp also has Brazil international Heurelho Gomes at his disposal. Cudicini admits it is an unusual position to be in, and it means he must give 100 per cent when called upon.
He continued: "It is strange. I can't see many teams in Europe that has three goalies like our team.
"When you have a difficult situation of course some of the people might not be happy, but in modern football you have to be able to put your personal interests on the side, and when you have the chance to play to always try to give 100%."
