Bolton midfielder Stuart Holden pleased with rehabilitation progress
The midfielder was ruled out for a further six months in September after only just returning from half a year on the sidelines as a follow-up operation uncovered cartilage damage

Bolton midfielder Stuart Holden has revealed his rehabilitation after suffering cartilage damage in his knee is progressing without any problems.
The 26-year-old was forced to undergo a routine procedure on the knee which he initially injured in March and left him sidelined for six months. The second follow-up operation in September uncovered the extended damage which leaves the USA international on the treatment table until next year.
Holden reveals the news came as a major blow after only just recovering from the first setback but maintains his outlook is positive ahead of his return to Bolton's first team.
I'd be lying if I said I wasn't devastated and in that deep, dark hole for a couple of weeks. I initially thought I'd be going in for a routine operation," Holden told Talksport.
"I'd work so hard the last six months to get playing and for that to happen, I needed to switch my phone off and needed time to myself.
"Once I got over that hump, it was back to me and being positive and getting back on the pitch. I've done everything I can do so far in rehab, I've really got my head back on straight and I'm actually looking forward to doing the work because I know once I get back it'll all have been worth it.
"I've kept in touch with all the boys. It is tough being around the team when you can't play, especially when you've suffered a major setback. The club has always been good about encouraging me to get time back home."
