Eden Hazard would 'triumph' in England – Arsenal forward Gervinho hails former Lille team-mate amid transfer speculation

The Ivorian international won Ligue 1 with the 20-year-old winger last season, but admits it would take a large transfer fee to acquire the Belgian international's services

Arsenal forward Gervinho has hailed former Lille team-mate Eden Hazard, claiming the Belgian international would be a hit in the Premier League.

The Ivorian won Ligue 1 last year with the French outfit before his summer move to the Emirates.

Hazard was an influential part Lille's success, and Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has long been an admirer of the youngster's talents.

Now with the 20-year-old winger recently declaring he is eager to move to one of Europe’s big clubs next season, Gervinho has suggested the player has the quality to succeed in England, but also noted it will take a large transfer fee to prise the starlet away from his current club.

“Hazard is a young player with enormous quality," the Ivory Coast star told French radio RMC Sports.

“If he has decided to leave, it is normal for clubs to be interested, as he has the level to triumph in a big league like England.

“Eden has learnt a lot at Lille, and I believe he could succeed abroad. Where he goes is up to the clubs. But it will be a big operation.”

Chelsea are also believed to be interested in Hazard, while Paris Saint-Germain and Inter have been linked with the forward.
