Goal.com readers have voted Chelsea striker Fernando Torres’ open goal miss against Manchester United at the weekend as the worst ever.
The Spaniard failed to find the back of the net from six yards after rounding Red Devils goalkeeper David de Gea, prompting 41.87 per cent of readers to vote it as the worst miss after taking the player and opposition into consideration.
The £50 million British transfer record signing from Liverpool has struggled to find the back of the goal since completing his move in January, netting just two goals.
A further 34.58% of readers think there have been far worse misses in the past, whilst 23.55% believe there have been others that have been equally as bad of Torres’ effort.
