Carlos Tevez will replace top scorer Edin Dzeko in the Manchester City starting lineup as Roberto Mancini's side take on Wigan Athletic at the Etihad Stadium.
The Argentina forward was stripped of the captaincy this week after making clear his desire to leave Manchester over the summer, but with the transfer window now closed he will return to spearhead the City attack.
Dzeko, who leads the Premier League with six goals, will start from the bench.
Samir Nasri also drops to the bench due to a broken finger, with Adam Johnson stepping in, while Gareth Barry is replaced by James Milner in central midfield due to injury.
Wigan manager Roberto Martinez makes one change to his starting XI, with James McArthur preferred to Jordi Gomez in midfield. New signing Albert Crusat could feature from the bench after signing from Almeria.
