QPR have confirmed that winger Jason Puncheon has joined the club on loan from Southampton until January.
The 25-year-old, left-footed but capable on either flank, sealed the move late on Wednesday’s transfer deadline day after impressing on a similar loan spell at Blackpool last season.
“It just made sense to give him an opportunity to come in until January and show us what he can do,” Rangers manager Neil Warnock told the club’s official website.
“This all happened very late in the day so I am very pleased we got him in.
“Jason is a good acquisition because he brings pace and plenty of desire.
“To be perfectly honest, he was so keen to come to QPR I think he would have paid us!
“He is desperate to do well, and that really impressed me.”
Puncheon also spent time on loan with Championship side Millwall last season, having not been part of Southampton manager Nigel Adkins’ plans even during the side’s time in League One last season.
He scored three goals in 11 league games during his time at Blackpool in the Premier League in 2011, and joins Shaun Wright-Phillips and Anton Ferdinand in moving to Loftus Road on the final day of the transfer window.
