Toffees boss believes that his two new signings will have a good impact on the club but concedes that Mikel Arteta's departure was done with no time to find a replacement
Argentine striker Denis Stracqualursi and Real Madrid's Royston Drenthe moved to Goodison Park on season-long loan deals on the final day of the transfer window.
Moyes told the Liverpool Echo: "We are going to wait and see with the new boys.
"Royston is explosive and hopefully he’ll give us a bit of that pace.
"It’s something new for him to come to England but we will give him time. We needed to try and find something extra for us.
"Denis has a good goal record and hopefully we will see that continue here."
The two loanees represent Everton's only first-team transfer dealings this summer, and the £10 million fee received for Mikel Arteta from Arsenal arrived too late to be reinvested in the squad.
Moyes confirmed: "It happened very late and there was not enough time."
