Liverpool club announce exciting double signing as they clinch the young Dutch left-sided player and the joint top scorer in the 2010 Argentine Apertura
Drenthe, 24, arrives on a 12-month loan after failing to convince the coaching staff at the Spanish giants ever since his move to La Liga from Feyenoord back in 2007.
Drenthe signed for Real on the back of an impressive 2007 Under-21 European Championship in which he picked up a winners medal representing the Netherlands, however he never managed to hold down a first team place.
Last season he spent time on-loan at Hercules who were newcomers to La Liga, and after an encouraging start that included a 2-1 win at the Camp Nou against Barcelona, it soon fell apart as he refused to play whilst the club failed to pay his wages.
Stracqualursi, a 23 year-old striker has also signed on a 12-month loan, but joins the club after a significantly happier year, impressing for his club Tigre.
The former Gimnasia La Plata attacker only played for Tigre for one year, but during that period he finished joint top-scorer in the Argentine Apertura with Velez Sarsfield’s Santiago Silva with both strikers recording 11 goals.
Stracqualursi’s transfer represents a direct replacement for Yakubu who joined Blackburn Rovers on deadline day.
