Israeli midfielder heads to the Emirates after long day of speculation linking him with Liverpool and Tottenham among other clubs, as Wenger makes another late window move

Chelsea have confirmed that Israeli midfielder Yossi Benayoun has completed his season-long loan move to Arsenal, moments after the player confirmed the deal on Twitter.

The 31-year-old player has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge in recent days, with a return to his former club Liverpool seemingly on the cards, while a switch to current Ligue One champions Lille and Tottenham also touted.

However, Benayoun has opted to sign for Arsene Wenger’s side, confirming his deal at the Emirates via social networking site twitter.

Speaking via the site, Benayoun said: “I sign with arsenal, very happy and excited about it, but now my head is only in the game against Greece on friday, thanks for the support.”
