The Reds have taken seven points from a possible nine in the Premier League, and the defender thinks they have the squad to compete.
“For this season we have signed a few new players and we have a really strong squad now,” he told reporters.
“It doesn't matter who is playing now. We have maybe 22 players and everyone can play in a game. That's very good and we can compare to the best teams in the Premier League.”
Saturday’s win over Bolton saw Liverpool head to the top of the Premier League, if only for a brief period, as the Reds were overtaken by both Manchester clubs on Sunday after they continued their winning starts to the season.
The game also saw Skrtel head home after coming on as a substitute for injured right-back Martin Kelly, and the centre-back says he is happy to play in any position for the club.
He continued: "I'm delighted because it's only my fourth goal for Liverpool, so I'm happy.
"Right-back is not my position but if the manager needs me there, I'm happy to play there. It's quite different from playing in the middle but I'll be happy if I play every single game for the club - it doesn't matter which position! I will always try to do my best for the club."
