The Dutch midfielder believes that his side have a good chance ahead of their Premier League opener at Old Trafford, on the back of an emphatic win against Hearts
Spurs' opening fixture against Everton was postponed for security issues following the London riots, and Harry Redknapp's side have only featured in one competitive match so far - a Europa League qualifier against Hearts - but the Dutchman is confident they can get a result at Old Trafford.
“We played fantastic there last season," he told the club's official website. "I hit the post and we were just a little unlucky,I think we have a good chance. Why not?
“It’s another big game, our first league game of the season; we’re ready and looking forward to it.
Spurs secured an impressive 5-0 win against Hearts in their Europa League match, and Van der Vaart feels that the result will help his side in the run in to this tough fixture.
“Of course it’s a tough game but we have a lot of confidence after the win at Hearts that we can get a positive result,” he added.
