Tottenham are raring to go as they prepare to kick off their Premier League season against Manchester United, according to midfielder Gareth Bale.
Spurs are yet to start their Premier League campaign after their opening match with Everton was postponed in the wake of the London riots, but they were in Europa League action in midweek, thrashing Scottish side Hearts 5-0.
Bale believes that result was the perfect preparation for a much sterner test to come at Old Trafford and, while he respects the quality of United’s summer signings, he feels confident about his side’s chances.
“It was great to be back, to get the season underway and to get off to such a good start,” he told the club's official website. “It was also great to get that winning mentality straight away.
“It was good to get out there and get 90 minutes and some match sharpness. We’ll be raring to go at United.
“They’ve made some great signings. Ashley Young has done well over the years for Villa and he’ll be a great addition to the squad. The keeper is world class, I’m sure he’ll prove that.
“But we want to test him and we’ll go to Old Trafford, give our all and try to test the whole team. We go into every game looking to win it.”
