Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew attends PSV match to scout Erik Pieters

The St James' Park boss watched the left-back with his agent, amid reports the Netherlands international is set to fill the slot vacated by Jose Enrique
Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew attended PSV's away win at ADO Den Haag amid speculation linking Erik Pieters with a move to St James' Park.

Reports in the Dutch media have suggested Newcastle United have renewed their interest in the 23-year-old after the departure of Jose Enrique to Liverpool, and are willing to follow up on their previous bid which was rejected.

Pardew, along with the left-back's agent, Hakim Slimani, watch on as PSV sealed a 3-0 victory at the Kyocera Stadium on Sunday.

Newcastle United's chief scout Graham Carr has previously watched the Netherlands international during PSV's 3-1 defeat to AZ Alkmaar earlier this month, although Pieters only featured in the second half.
