Blues keeper reveals he has no idea who will start against the Potters next Saturday, but says club’s pre-season form bodes well for the start of their league campaignChelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech has revealed he cannot predict from pre-season matches who manager Andre Villas-Boas will select for the side’s Premier League opener against Stoke City next Sunday.
A trip to the Britannia Stadium kicks off another season of great expectations for Chelsea, as new boss Villas-Boas looks to succeed where many previous Blues managers have failed and satisfy owner Roman Abramovich’s appetite for major trophies.
Cech admits he does not know who the Portuguese coach will select to face the Potters, but is confident the team’s good pre-season form will enable them to hit the ground running regardless.
"I think it's fair to say that each player was given more or less the same amount of time to impress, but it's hard to say who will be in the starting line-up against Stoke,” he told the club's official website.
"Looking at who started on Saturday you cannot tell and the coaches still have this week to pick the best 11 players.
"We are glad to have won the last friendly too. In pre-season we won all fixtures and that is good for our psyche."
