United manager is confident young Mexican striker will build on a fantastic first season in England and suggests he may even beat previous tally of 20 goals this time around
Hernandez has so far proved an inspired piece of business for United, scoring 20 goals in a phenomenal first campaign in England and helping his side to a record 19th Premier League title as well as the Champions League final.
Sir Alex says he is not at all surprised by the speed of the 23-year-old’s development since arriving at Old Trafford last summer, and the Scot believes his young striker will get even better this season as he grows in experience and maturity.
"It was tough for him last season but over time, Javier will mature and get better," Sir Alex told reporters.
"He is improving technically and now he has had a good season behind him in a tough division.
"We are setting targets for him. We thought he would get 20 last season and he did. He might do even better this time."
