thumbnail Hello,

The Israeli international was subject to jeers from 85,000-strong crowd in the majority Muslim country which backs Palestine over the Jewish state in the middle east

Chelsea midfielder Yossi Benayoun suffered racial abuse during the club's friendly against a Malaysia XI on Thursday.

The crowd, which was announced at around 85,000 for the pre-season match, booed the former Liverpool star every time he touched the ball because he is Israeli.

Malaysia is a majority Muslim country which backs Palestine in its ongoing dispute with Israel and has no diplomatic ties with the Jewish state.

Chelsea went on to win the match 1-0 thanks to a controversial Didier Drogba strike late on.
