Gunners are believed to be confident of luring the winger to the Emirates, but it has been reported that the club are looking to sign him regardless of Samir Nasri’s situation
Arsenal are believed to be confident of a move for Valencia winger Juan Mata.
The 23-year-old Spaniard, who is valued at £15 million, has been linked with a move away from his current employers, with Barcelona and Liverpool having previously been viewed as other possible destinations for the midfielder.
Now The Mirror claims that the potential signing of the Valencia man has nothing to do with Samir Nasri's situation in north London, despite the speculation concerning the player's future.
Mata's father, who is also his agent, has confirmed that the winger is being courted by foreign sides.
He said: "There have been calls from foreign clubs but now the decision rests with Valencia. He is on his holidays."
