Andre Villas-Boas is thought to have watched tapes of the Brum defender, while the Stamford Bridge outfit have also been linked with a move for Bolton Wanderers centre-half Gary Cahill, who is understood to be a target for Arsenal.
Meanwhile, The Guardian reports that Sunderland are also keen on a move for former Coventry City man Dann.
