Steve Kean believed to be keen on a return for the Paraguay international, despite forward's injury woes that have prevented him from making regular appearances
Blackburn Rovers are believed to be interested in £6.5 million move for their former player Roque Santa Cruz.
The 29-year-old left Rovers to join Manchester City in a £17.5m move two years ago, but injuries and poor form have prevented the Paraguay international from succeeding at Eastlands.
With the former Bayern Munich man having scored only three goals during his stay at City, the forward was shipped off to Blackburn on loan in January.
Despite an injury hit second spell at Ewood Park, News of the World reports that manager Steve Kean is interested in signing the forward.
Santa Cruz made only six appearances during the second half of last season for Rovers.
