thumbnail Hello,

The 24-year-old Ivory Coast star has decided he wants to test himself in a big European league, confirming that he will soon inform the club of his decision to quit

Reported Arsenal, Liverpool and Newcastle United target Gervinho has admitted that he has decided to leave Lille this summer and make the move to the Premier League.

The 24-year-old has scored 15 goals in 40 appearances for the French side, attracting interest from around Europe with his performances.

His coach, Rudi Garcia, had previously insisted he was keen to keep the Ivory Coast forward and although Gervinho had suggested earlier on Wednesday that he had not yet decided on his future, the former Le Mans star has now confirmed his intention to leave.

"My mind is made up, I am leaving," he told Skysports.com.

The striker only has a year to run on his Lille contract and he revealed that his desire to move is motivated by the challenge of testing his abilities in one of Europe’s more high-profile leagues.

"I have made my mind up," he added. "I will soon meet the club and let them know, but they understand my feelings that I want to prove myself in a top league in Europe.

"My agents are moving things as I want, people know where my future lies, it is in England."

The Ivory Coast star grabbed a brace as his country qualified for next year’s African Cup of Nations with a 6-2 win against Benin and Gervinho hopes his side can win the competition.

"We qualified our country for the African Nations Cup, we need to go for that and try to win that competition for our country, which has been suffering in the past ten-years of conflict," he continued.

"Hopefully we have entered the time of peace."
