Ali Al Habsi confirms second Wigan Athletic bid has been rejected by Bolton Wanderers

Goalkeeper, who says he wants first-term football next season, reveals on Twitter that the Latics’ latest bid for their 2010-11 Player of the Season has been rejected

Ali Al Habsi has revealed Wigan Athletic have had a second offer for his services rejected by Bolton Wanderers.

Al Habsi, 29, became a fans' favourite and won Wigan's Player of the Season award while on loan at DW Stadium from the Trotters during the 2010-11 season.

Wigan are now keen to secure him on a permanent deal and tabled a £2m bid for his services last week, but it was rejected by the Trotters.

The Latics subsequently launched an improved £3m offer for Al Habsi this week but the player revealed on Twitter it had been knocked back again with Bolton looking for £5m.

Al Habsi played 33 games for the Latics last term after making only 10 appearances in four years at Reebok Stadium.
