Wigan Athletic midfielder James McArthur has admitted that team-mate James McCarthy could be tempted by a move away from the club this summer.
Goal.com exclusively revealed last week that Liverpool are closing in on the £10 million signing of the Republic of Ireland international.
And now McArthur, who also played with McCarthy at Hamilton, says that although the Latics star would like to keep playing for the club, he could be interested in a move.
"I'm sure he'll be tempted if there are offers there," McArthur said.
"To be linked with teams like Liverpool and Arsenal is very tempting but I'm sure he'll want to keep playing. So it's a Catch 22 and a hard decision for him again."
The Scotland midfielder is not surprised by interest shown for his team-mate from some of the top clubs in the league.
The 23-year-old added: "Playing with him this season has been brilliant, he is one of our top performers.
"He was a young boy at Hamilton and has gone down there and become a Premier League star.
"He has been linked with so many moves, it shows how well he has done."
