thumbnail Hello,

The Frenchman admits he is happy to hear that "big clubs and big coaches" have hailed his talents although the former Lyon star is convinced the Bernabeu club want to keep him

Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema has revealed he is honoured at the interest shown in him by Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, although is adamant he will still be at the Bernabeu next season.

The France international struggled for consistency for the La Liga giants during the 2010-11 campaign and, despite Gunners manager Wenger hinting at a potential bid for the former Lyon forward, Benzema insists he is determined to prove his worth in the Spanish capital.

"For me it's an honour that big clubs and big coaches are interested in me," he said, as quoted by the Daily Mirror. "That shows I have increased my level as a footballer.

"But I have spoken face to face with Jose Mourinho and I don't believe he wants to sell me this summer. I wasn't consistent in my game last season but hopefully things have changed now.

"I want to demonstrate my level to the coach - I want to show people the best version of Benzema this season.

"I don't worry even if Real Madrid agree deals with other clubs for new forwards. This will only inspire me."
